Call for Presentations

  • MoodleMoot San Francisco '08 Call for Papers is now open.

    Reminder: You will need to create an account on the site (if you don't have one already) and enroll in the course to submit a proposal.

    The Call for Papers for MoodleMoot San Francisco '08 officially opens today. We are looking for community members who would like to present their Moodle experiences to the rest of the community. We're looking for teachers, students, programmers, thinkers, theorists, and business people... anyone who uses Moodle and wants to tell others about it.

Schedule of Events


  • The 2008 San Francisco Schedule of Events:
    Early registration for the Moodle Moot and the pre-conference seminars is available through April 30th, 2008. Standard registration will prices will go into effect on May 1st.

    Pre-Conference Seminars, June 9th

    NOTE: The Pre-Conference Seminars are being held in downtown San Francisco at 333 Bush St. on the 12th floor. We are running a shuttle from the conference center. If you did not receive the email about the location and shuttle, the afternoon shuttle will run from the conference center starting at 12:30 pm.

    We will be offering two pre-conference seminars on the day before the Moot. There will be a morning and afternoon session of each seminar. Space will be limited and registration will be subject to availability. A continental breakfast will be served before the morning session, and snacks in the afternoon. Drinks will be available throughout.

    Pre-Conference Developers Moot, June 9th
    Pre-Conference Moodle Developers Hackfest, June 9th The 2008 Moodle Developers Hackfest will be held in conjunction with the San Francisco Moodle Moot at the Best Western Grosvenor Hotel. It will be an all day event held June 9th. Remote-Learner.net is sponsoring and hosting the event. This is an opportunity for developers and IT people to talk code, meet Martin Dougiamas and other core developers. Come and learn and share your ideas. 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Cost: FREE

    Moodle Moot, June 10th and 11th
    The two day Moodle Moot will be held Tuesday June 10th and Wednesday June 11th. Standard registration for the event is $299/person. Full registration for the Moot plus a discussion dinner Tuesday evening is $349/person.

    The Moot will feature a morning and afternoon general session begining and ending each day. The schedule is listed below:

    Post-Conference Tours, June 12th
    Stay an extra day and spend some time seeing the city of San Francisco and Northern California. We have chartered tour busses to host two tours following the Moot. These will be private tours, so talking shop is definitely recommended. A minimum number will be needed to hire the private tours. If the minimum number for one of the tours is not reached, that tour will be cancelled and any fees collected will be refunded in full.

    Deluxe City Tour A guided journey will highlight famous landmarks and familiarize you with the unique sociology of San Francisco, and will take approximately 4 hours. $35/person
    Wine Country Tour Discover Napa Valley, Sonoma and all that the Northern California wine country has to offer. The tour will take approximately 9 1/2 hours. $60/person
