Moodle training is available in a variety of formats, including face-to-face instruction, self-paced courses and tutorials. This approach is quite different: Moodle users find themselves in a game similar to an escape room and have to solve some riddles using (and regarding) Moodle functionality. This engaging way of learning is ideal for Moodle trainers, administrators and developers who may never have considered certain Moodle features. They receive some login data to a Moodle instance where they find a prepared environment (e.g. courses, other users, etc.), some parts of this environment may be broken or used in ways they were not intended to be. Amidst all this chaos, participants can find secret codes in activities, blocks and backup files that will help them escape their virtual prison.
