Ludilearn is a Moodle plugin that brings adaptive gamification into the heart of course design. It enables teachers to personnalise learning by assigning game features tailored to each student’s motivational profile. Six elements can be activated based on teacher decisions, or a built-in adaptive algorithm. Developed and co-designed through educational research, Ludilearn is now installed on French national education platform, and freely available on Moodle.org, with training courses in both French and soon English.
This session is divided into four parts:
Part 0 – Project Recap & Plugin Overview
A quick reintroduction for those new to Ludilearn. We’ll revisit the project’s core goals: enhancing learner motivation through adaptive gamification, and building a Moodle-native tool based on real pedagogical needs. We’ll briefly explain the plugin’s logic, interface, and use cases for both schools and adult training contexts.
Part 1 – Research Results and Testimonials
We’ll present final findings from our large-scale experiment with 2000 students in a mathematics module. The study shows how personalised game features can improve motivation and performance. We’ll highlight how the six game elements affect different learner profiles.
Part 2 – Plugin Demonstration & Course Design
A live walkthrough of the updated plugin: new design, enhanced usability. We’ll show how teachers can enable adaptive gamification easily within existing Moodle courses.
Part 3 – Interactive Hands-On Experience
Attendees will test Ludilearn directly on our Moodle platform, exploring both the student and teacher perspectives.
We conclude with discussion time for feedback, questions, and practical ideas for use.
Ludilearn turns Moodle into a dynamic, responsive, inclusive learning environment — with motivation at its core.
Poste session participants walk away with the scientific research results, exemples and plugin they can apply immediately.
The project is based on scientific researches and gives some information beyond the simple Moodle plugin. This can apply in higher education, workplace learning.
Ludilearn was presented last year in the beginning of the project and now we want to show more when the plugin is published and we received scientific results.
