Day 2 Posters

Reinventing course design

Why is it so hard to build beautiful, inclusive courses at scale? As digital learning expands, the gap between what instructional designers want to build and what they can build with current tools is widening. As a course creator, you are asked to deliver content that is accessible, responsive, visually engaging, and learner-centered, but the tools at hand often demand graphic design skills, technical know-how and/or expensive licenses.

In this session, we challenge the current state of course creation and present a vision for a more sustainable approach to digital learning design. At the heart of this vision is elearnspark, a Moodle plugin that we built from a combined 20+ years of experience in instructional design.

Elearnspark lets any instructional designer turn a simple Word document into a modern, responsive, interactive course within seconds. Without a steep learning curve and design expertise.

Together we’ll explore:

  • Why mobile-first and accessible design must be the default, not an afterthought.
  • How Moodle and elearnspark delivers on this vision through its smart document-to-course conversion, built-in translation tools for multilingual delivery, seamless multimedia import and clean layouts optimized for mobile and accessibility.

By shifting the “how” of content creation, we empower instructional designers to focus on the “why”: reaching learners with purpose-driven, beautifully delivered content.

Participants walk away with:

  • Practical strategies for scaling high-quality learning content without scaling cost or complexity
  • A clear roadmap for modernizing learning design within Moodle and beyond

This session matters to anyone involved in workplace learning as the future of learning demands radically simpler authoring tools.

This enables educators to design courses fast and simple within Moodle, easier than external tools such as iSpring or Articulate Rise.
