Moodle beyond education: Large-scale innovation with accessible, mobile and engaging design

Imagine a national financial education project with massive reach, nationwide TV commercials, trucks converted into mobile classrooms, and a Netflix-style web series — all powered by Moodle. This is the scenario behind Sicoob’s initiative, which transformed its platform into a modern, accessible, and engaging learning hub.
In this presentation, we explore how Moodle was customised to meet the needs of a broad and diverse audience, combining intuitive usability, personalised learning paths, responsive design, and smart navigation. The course, accessible via mobile devices even in areas with low connectivity, delivers a visually appealing experience with simple language and high-impact audiovisual content.

Attendees will leave with course architecture models for large-scale delivery; engagement strategies using audiovisual storytelling; examples of personalised learning paths; and management monitoring practices applicable to any organisational context. Templates, onboarding flows, and usability resources focused on accessibility and retention will also be presented.

More than just a technical application of Moodle, this project addresses key themes in higher education and corporate learning, such as scalability, regional autonomy, strategic alignment, and the democratisation of knowledge. Sicoob’s experience resonates with multi-campus institutions, public networks, and companies facing the challenge of consistently and measurably training diverse audiences.
