In larger organisations, workplace training is often supported by comprehensive platforms like Moodle Workplace, with a portion delivered synchronously in a virtual classroom—usually referred to as Instructor-Led Training (ILT).
However, many organizations are using Teams, Zoom, or Meet for ILT. Such sessions are largely one-way screen-sharing with instructors constrained by limited means to engage, measure, and give feedback to learners (especially when learners do not share a webcam).
There is a better approach. BigBlueButton provides built-in tools for active learning and live analytics to ensure every student learns. It’s embedded into Moodle LMS and, by extension, Moodle Workplace.
Blindside Networks, the company behind the BigBlueButton project, has focused its efforts into deepening BigBlueButton’s integration with Moodle Workplace in the areas of increasing learner engagement, sharing analytics, providing unified reporting, integration with the appointments module, and leveraging Moodle’s AI subsystem.
In this one hour session, we give an overview of those efforts and welcome your feedback to further strengthen and deepen the integration.
Attendees will leave with:
- An understanding of how pedagogy applies to the virtual classroom for ILT
- A view of the current and future road map for deepening BigBlueButton’s integration with Moodle Workplace
- A chance to influence that road map and help your organisation achieve the most effective ILT sessions
