Enhancing your Moodle site, discovering plugins or finding ways to empower your e-learning projects, there are numerous things you can learn from our sponsors!
Today we talk to our gold sponsors, Poodll, about their software and their participation at MoodleMoot US 2018.
Poodll Founder and Director, Justin Hunt, tells us more:
Moodle: Justin, for those unfamiliar with Poodll, can you please tell us a little bit about your company? What services do you provide and how does Poodll extend an organisation’s Moodle site?
Justin: Poodll the software is a toolbox of sorts that provides audio and video recorders, and media players for use in the classroom. It is used a lot in language learning, but also in online peer collaboration. Poodll the company is based in Nagasaki Japan, though most of our users are actually outside of Japan.
Moodle HQ: What can Moodlers expect or look forward to from Poodll’s presence at the upcoming MoodleMoot US 2018 in Denver?
Justin: We have been working hard on implementing Amazon’s AI services with Poodll and building a lightweight cloud version of Poodll. So we will be showing off that. Look out for AI evaluation of student speech, automatic audio and video subtitling and our new Moodle subtitle editor. And we have these little headphone things we are giving away. And the Poodll guy is bringing a really bad joke. You have to hear it.
Moodle HQ: What has been one of the best and memorable Moodle projects that Poodll has worked on and supported?
Justin: Poodll was made for learning languages but when I see it used in novel ways it still surprises me. I think when I found that it was being used in deaf schools for teaching sign language, it was a real moment. And another was when I saw elementary school students sending in videos submissions of the games they programmed.
Moodle HQ: How can Moodlers stay in touch with news from Poodll or find out more about your company?
