Local MoodleMoots FAQs
-
MoodleMoots are held throughout the year in various countries and cities around the world.
Find a MoodleMoot near you!
-
To find a MoodleMoot in a location near you, take a look at our Moodle Events page.
There are many ways to attend a MoodleMoot near you:
- Be a sponsor: work with the MoodleMoot organisers to sponsor the event, either as an exhibitor, or through other sponsorship opportunities.
- Be a presenter: submit a presentation on a Moodle project, story or idea that fits into the theme / tracks of the Moot you are planning on attending. The program committee for each MoodleMoot will then select presentations to be delivered at the Moot.
- Be a participant: register a spot to attend the Moot you’d like to go to. The “Register” link on each of our Moot websites will provide options on ticket prices.
-
The content of MoodleMoot presentations should be focused on good practice in Moodle and be of benefit to the Moodle community attending as participants.
If you are interested in presenting at a MoodleMoot:
- Go to our Moodle Events page to find the Moot that you would like to present at.
- Head to the relevant MoodleMoot website to find out more about the type of presentations the organisers are looking for, and submit your abstract / draft presentation directly via the event page.
-
Most local Moots might not have this option available, as they are organised by conference coordinators outside of Moodle HQ. We invite you to visit the Moodle Events page to find out more about each MoodleMoot.
You can watch recordings of some of the MoodleMoot presentations from around the world on our Moodle YouTube channel, including all the recordings from our annual MoodleMoot Global conference.
-
If you’re interested in sponsoring any one of the official MoodleMoots supported by Moodle HQ, please head to the relevant MoodleMoot website, which you can access from Moodle Events and contact the organisers directly via the official event website by clicking the “Go to event” link.
If you are interested in sponsoring MoodleMoot Global, please email [email protected] and a member of the MoodleMoot Global team will provide you with further information about the Sponsorship opportunities available for the upcoming MoodleMoot Global conference.

A MoodleMoot™ is a conference for the Moodle community in your region to connect with peers, explore ideas and learn from one another. We want to encourage our Moodle community to raise awareness and adoption of our open source platform and to collaborate to help advance it, to support our mission to empower educators to improve our world.
If you are planning to run a MoodleMoot™ conference in your region, please fill out the Official MoodleMoots interest form including as many details as possible about your event.
Your form will be reviewed by the MoodleMoot team and you will be contacted in due course to confirm the details about the type of support that you would like from Moodle.
Once the details have been confirmed, Moodle will issue MoodleMoot organisers with an agreement to become an official MoodleMoot and formalise the support from the Moodle team.
In the meantime, if you have any further queries, please contact us by completing this MoodleMoot contact form.

Yes, every year Organisers would like to organise a MoodleMoot event, they will need to communicate the details to Moodle Pty Ltd, who will issue a one year fixed term contract between the Organisers and Moodle Pty Ltd to run an official MoodleMoot™.
-
No, Moodle HQ cannot give the exclusivity to a Moodle Certified Partner, a Moodle Certified Integration Partner or other organisation to run a MoodleMoot in a specific region. MoodleMoots should have the Community in the centre of any decision, and where possible, Moodle HQ will encourage Moodle Certified Partners and organisations in the region to collaborate to run an official MoodleMoot.
-
If you don’t already have an established domain name, we suggest using the format moodlemoot.companyname.com. Once you confirm your preferred website domain name, our Trademark team will arrange a Trademark licence for your event website domain name.
The words ‘Moodle’ and ‘MoodleMoot’ (and associated logos) are protected trade marks owned by Moodle. Organisers shall be responsible to ensure that all materials and presentations comply with Moodle’s Trademarks Guidelines and Brand Guidelines located at: https://moodle.com/trademarks. The Organisers must ensure that all promotion of the MoodleMoot event adheres to the relevant MoodleMoot Support Package and MoodleMoot Guidelines.
-
Any Moodle Certified Partner in the region or Moodle Certified Integration will be given the opportunity to be official sponsors at a MoodleMoot at the same rates (or less) offered to any other sponsor.
The Organisers shall not allow sponsorship to any companies which are operating in direct competition with the Moodle and/or its Certified Partners.
The Organisers shall not allow anyone including sponsors or presenters to use the MoodleMoot event to promote other learning management systems (LMSs) to the detriment of the Moodle LMS.
-
A member of Moodle HQ can be invited to give a presentation at an official MoodleMoot (subject to the chosen support package). Presentations can be given remotely or speakers can be supported to attend the conference and present. All related costs (flights, accommodation, expenses) will be covered by the MoodleMoot organisers.
After signing the agreement, the organisers will liaise with Moodle HQ about the topic or speakers they would like to have at their MoodleMoot and Moodle HQ will do as much as possible to fulfil the requests, depending on the team member’s agenda.
The choice between a remote or in-person presentation will be limited by the scale and budget of the MoodleMoot and the availability of HQ staff.
-
After an official agreement has been signed with MoodleMoot organisers, Moodle HQ will share with the Organisers the Official MoodleMoot Guidelines with the idea to help organisers through the planning process. This document will help organisers run an official MoodleMoot, ensuring high-quality and consistent MoodleMoots are delivered worldwide, and that they align to our community’s philosophy and values.
