Moodle Academy Qualifications

The Moodle Educator Certification (MEC) is being renamed to become Moodle Educator Qualification (MEQ). This re-branding comes with a fresh, new-look certificate, but rest assured, the program remains the same at its core—designed to empower educators and learning professionals with the skills they need to succeed in the digital world. In 2025, we will introduce a new Moodle Administrator Qualification (MAQ) designed for administrators who want to validate their expertise and advance their careers.

The Moodle Educator Qualification (MEQ) is designed to validate and enhance educators’ teaching competences using Moodle’ s. This qualification ensures that educators not only understand the functionalities of Moodle but can also apply them to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences and it is based on the European Framework for Digital Competencies of Educators.

Simultaneously, the Moodle Administrator Qualification aims to standardise the competencies of Moodle administrators across the globe. This Qualification program addresses the critical need for skilled professionals who can efficiently manage and maintain Moodle environments and it is based on the Moodle Admins Competence Framework.

Both qualifications ensure that qualified individuals possess a high level of expertise recognised worldwide and assist educators and administrators to demonstrate their skills and advance their careers.

This poster will explain all the details around the re-branding and benefits of the MEQ and MAQ programs. Attendees will gain insights into the Qualification processes, and the long-term value these Qualifications bring to educational institutions and professionals alike. By establishing a global standard for Moodle proficiency, we aim to enhance the quality of education and administration in learning environments worldwide, fostering a more efficient and impactful use of Moodle.
