This presentation will explore how ethical AI-powered voices and speech-enabled learning tools can be used to enhance STEM learning within the Moodle LMS. ReadSpeaker for Moodle is a certified integration, allowing for easy implementation, providing a seamless text to speech (TTS) experience for users, making content more inclusive, accessible and engaging for all.
We will address the challenges that can be faced in STEM e-learning and discuss the importance of designing for inclusivity. Content in the Moodle platform can be designed with TTS to enable users with different levels of ability, such as dyslexics, visually impaired, neurodivergent and multilingual learners, to have equal access to resources. But TTS is more than just accessibility. It is a crucial element of Universal Design for Learning and supports all students by making content more accessible, interactive and engaging.
Leveraging TTS can level the educational playing field for all students by enabling the instant use of audio-assistance, which can be pivotal for bringing more students into STEM environments, and ensuring their success.
TTS technology also serves as an effective study tool for students, improving the quality of learning outside the classroom. Therefore, it brings continuity to students’ individual learning and maintains engagement in STEM topics.
In this presentation we will discuss designing great STEM content from the ground up, how you can improve your current content, and give real work examples, such as the Stem Olympiades, that have used a TTS within their Moodle environment to level the playing field for STEM content and assessments. There will be a demo and a Q&A.
Join us to learn how you can leverage voice technology to enhance inclusion, accessibility, engagement and autonomy to improve learning outcomes.
