Unlocking Creativity through the Backward Design Process to Develop a Flexible New Hire Program

This presentation highlights the successful transformation of a government agency’s new hire training program through collaboration between subject matter experts, learning designers and Moodle US. Embracing the backward design model, the agency embarked on a journey to reassess their training goals, leading to the development of a dynamic and effective training program. Leveraging Moodle’s versatile features, both asynchronous and synchronous tools were seamlessly integrated to cater to diverse learning needs. The hybrid approach, supported by Moodle courses, not only enabled efficient tracking but also ensured comprehensive support for trainees throughout the training program. From interactive lessons and quizzes to engaging simulations via H5P and GoReact integration, trainees are immersed in a dynamic learning experience that prepares them for real life situations. This presentation offers insights into the collaborative process, integrations, and the impactful outcomes achieved, underscoring the pivotal role of Moodle in driving organizational learning excellence.
